FEATURE ARTICLE
Put Yourself in Heavenly Hands
by Guy Finley -
"Letting Go" Tuesdays, 6pm PT

There is a lower world where fears are real-where all things, and everyone living in this world, are unknowing participants in the fear that's found there. In this darker realm, the thing feared is inseparable from the nature that fears it, so that any action taken by this nature to end the fear it feels becomes the seed of its next fearful state.

For example, say that you're worried that someone you love may be losing interest in your affection. As this fear mounts, you start asking for emotional affirmation-seeking through words or by touch the attention you fear is waning. This push for consolation, created entirely by fear, produces exactly the opposite reaction in your partner, and he or she withdraws further. Most of us already know how this story plays out: in the end, we unwittingly cause the very thing we most feared would happen.

There is a higher world where fears such as these can't enter, let alone infect. Its peace is inseparable from its wholeness because in the higher worlds holiness is perfect protection; no creature can come into it that hasn't agreed to be one with its harmony. Any action taken by this nature is always in accord with the innumerable worlds in and around it; as such, these actions are the seeds of that peaceable kingdom from which they are sown. In the truest sense of the words, this world is the peace that passes all understanding.

It isn't so much that we live between these two worlds as it is that we're unaware of living in these two worlds at the same time. The world below knows nothing of the world above, while the world above understands everything about what dwells beneath it.

Knowledge alone of these inner domains does nothing to change your relationship with them, other than help make intellectually clear which of these two kingdoms should be the object of your soul's affection. About this there should be no confusion, any more than one would struggle to decide whether to collect sharp pebbles or precious pearls from the shoreline. However, just as it's true that discerning the difference between a smooth pebble and a precious pearl requires being able to see them, so is it true when it comes to knowing the difference between what is fearful or fearless within you.

This is why only the light of awareness of the entangled existence of these worlds can lead you safely through them and into the holiness that you seek. This awareness is choice, and this choice is action; together, they are one movement that serves a single divine purpose: to deliver you from out of the fearful hands of the lower worlds and into the loving hands of heaven.

SPIRITUAL RESPECT
by Linda Mackenzie, C.H.T., Ph.D.(c)

The dictionary defines the noun "respect" as the following:

The act of respecting or noticing with attention; the act of holding in high esteem; deference or honor;
a state of being held in honor or esteem; to show consideration for; regard; courteous expression of respect; regards;
a particular point or detail; partiality; undue bias to the prejudice of justice; consideration; motive in reference to something;
relation; regard; reference; as in respect for your problem.

These are all meanings of respect on a human level, but how does it apply spiritually? What is spiritual respect? Where does it come from? How and when should you use it?

What is Spiritual Respect?

Spiritual respect is not earned in the sense of what you know or what you achieve on your life path journey. It does not come from judgment, expectation, the need for control, the need to be right, negative emotions like jealousy or worry about what other people think, rationalization, attitudes or feelings on what you want or think "respect" should be. It is not used for personal gain, ego or power. Spiritual respect is a God-given right held by all living things that should be honored, esteemed and regarded by everyone at all times. It is not demanding. It does not encompass judgment from human mores and values. It is the awareness of seeing beyond human limitations and conditions to the positive life force in every living thing.

Where Does It Come From?

  • A deep abiding unshakable Faith
  • Trust
  • Development of an inner knowing
  • Balance of power and energy
  • Positive energy
  • Hope
  • Charity
  • Grounding, focus and centeredness
  • Experience

How to Use Spiritual Respect?

  • Separate human emotion/physical respect experiences from spiritual respect experience.
  • Use awareness to see beyond human limitations and conditions to the positive life force of every living thing.
  • Honor and esteem the uniqueness and energy in every living thing.
  • Act honorably and use gentle regard without judgment.
  • To realize the personal journey of all is a unique process perceived from their own perspective which is their growth path to higher consciousness.
  • Find the positiveness in each situation.
  • Walk through fear and judgment.
  • Think of the ramifications on all around you before you act.
  • Welcome change as an opportunity.
  • Take responsibility for your actions.
  • Use the Power of intention and positive thought.
  • Do not intrude on anyone's free will.
  • Balance receiving and giving.
  • Self-empower people in their path of self-discovery.
  • Use kindness.
  • Perceive how people or things will receive your actions, thoughts and feelings.
  • Understand that we are all one and make a positive impact on existence through every word, thought and deed.
  • Understand that everything has value.
  • Benefit mankind and the world.
  • Come from love in all things-

How to Develop Spiritual Respect.

  • Live in the Moment - not the past or future.
  • Let go of judgment.
  • Let go of rigid goals and expectation.
  • Let go of rationalization.
  • Let go of negative thoughts and phrases like can't, shouldn't, wouldn't, if...
  • Let go of negative emotions like hate, discrimination, anger, jealousy, hate, self-pity, guilt.
  • Develop responsibility for your actions.
  • Eliminate fear on all levels.
  • Let go of ego.
  • Realize there are no secrets.
  • Realize there are no mistakes.
  • Take care of your body, mind and spirit.
  • Reduce the 4 levels of stress in your life (physical, emotional, nutritional and environmental).
  • Practice relaxation.
  • Let go of materialism.
  • Let go of the need for power.
  • Be self-reliant.
  • Develop spiritual, ethical and moral values.
  • Practice love.

When to Use Spiritual Respect.
Every moment, in every aspect of your entire life.
